West Midlands Lupus Group AGM & Open Meeting, Sunday, 11th April 2010

Yvonne and Peter Norton update members on the events that have taken place within the
Group since the last Open Meeting.

Dr Chee-Seng Yee, Research Fellow, Queen Elizabeth/City Hospitals/Birmingham University, gave a Talk  entitled:‘Lupus – the State of Play’.

During his Talk, Dr Yee covered the diagnosis of lupus and the various treatments available and their effects. He then went on to discuss the new Biologic treatments that are currently going through clinical trials.     Dr Yee gave everyone hope or the future and stressed that patients know their own illness better than anyone else.

Bryan Smart, Committee Member, spoke about the future of WMLG and informed those present that a questionnaire will be mailed to all members during the summer so that the value of Meetings and the newsletter can be assessed and the needs of members can be better catered for.
